The “Real” Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Ok, Ok so it’s not Jan 1. However this is when the “real” New Year starts. This is when the truth comes out about you really keeping your new years resolution or not.

It’s estimated 36% of Americans who make New Year’s resolutions give up on their resolution after three weeks! (Source: University of Scranton). Why? The most common reasons are: setting unrealistic goals, not keeping track of their progress, or forgetting about it. Are you apart of the 36% already? I want to encourage you to not give up.

Take a Time out.

Slow down and take a moment to regroup. Revisit your new years resolution now that all the enthusiasm has washed away and ask some questions: Where does God fit into your resolution? Did you ask Him for help with this goal? If this was in line with His Word?

It’s not too late, ask Him, see if it’s in line with his will for your life.

Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will walk and not grow weary they will run and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

Just because you are taking this time to sit on the bench doesn’t mean you aren’t in the game. You can regroup and get back in the game. Better to regroup now and pick it back up in February than to have dropped it all year.

Be Encouraged, Be Blessed
