Early in my journey of living a successful Christian lifestyle, I wanted to increase my faith, but I didn’t know how.
How can I make myself believe more?
As much as I tried I couldn’t until…
Matthew 7:21-23” Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day (when I judge them) Lord, Lord have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many miracles in Your name? And then I will declare to them publicly, I never knew you depart from Me you who act wickedly (disregarding my commands)”
I realized in that moment that I didn’t know or trust Him and therefore I didn’t obey Him.
Yes, I did a lot of good things. Things other people told me to do. Things I thought I should do in order to be a “good Christian” but never once did I do anything He told me to do.
I wasn’t taking the time to pray and really search out the Bible to know what the Father’s will was for me.
I acknowledged Him. I definitely knew of Him but I didn’t know Him for myself. I was busy listening to advice and teachings from everyone else. I would hear God’s word second-hand from everything and everyone else and go with it- trusting their word and not taking the time to consult God for myself.
It wasn’t until I stopped listening to everyone else and began creating my own personal intimate relationship with Jesus that my faith radically increased.
The more I came to know Him through my personal relationship with Him, the more I trusted Him. The more I trusted Him the more I obeyed Him.
Trusting the words of others can only take you so far but trusting the word of the Lord opens up infinite possibilities.
If you’re interested in creating your own personal relationship with God here are the three main ingredients you will need:
Pray, Trust and Obey
Sept. 28, 2017, I will be giving an in depth training on how you can get started implementing Pray, Trust & Obey into your life so you can begin increasing your faith.
Until next time
