Today I’d like to welcome you into my conversation with an extraordinary woman of God- Jessica Journey. Jessica is a fellow speaker, coach and consultant who helps others live an authentic and abundant life by leveraging their God given resources and abilities.

In this conversation she tells her version of the biblical parable regarding the prodical son. It’s really unique and I’ve never heard anything quite like it.

In her version Jessica refuses to relinquish her womanhood so instead of the prodigal son it is the prodigal daughter and instead of the older son she says the older daughter. She tells this story with such passion and detail, giving insight into the hang ups of the older daughter.

In listening to her tell the story I realize that I too identify with parts of the story. I give voice to some of the struggles of the younger daughter. How does she come out of the the pig pen and get back into the Father’s house?

Jessica’s fresh take on this old parable transforms it into a relevant and relatable lesson giving voice to the struggles and hang ups we face in our own lives as women today. I encourage you to listen to the recording. Whether you identify with the younger daughter or the older daughter, we challenge you to ask yourself: Am I going to the party?
