Free to Be You

Free to be you

I recently came back from Israel and I would love to say everyday was great but it wasn’t. Shortly after I got to Israel I became disappointed in myself because I acted the same in Israel as I did at home. I was planning on reading 2 chapters of my Bible every day, praying 3 times a day and fasting. However, I did none of that. I scolded myself: “How dare I not take advantage of His holy city and act accordingly!”

Instead of doing all these extra things I was relaxing and thoroughly enjoying the wonderful food and fellowship while praying short simple prayers throughout the day. I would open my Bible only to deepen my understanding of what God spoke to my heart or what I learned of the land.

4 days into my trip God revealed to me that I was supposed to be vacationing and relaxing while He was pouring into me. He poured into me love through fellowship, blessings through His people, knowledge of the people and the land of Israel, confirmation of who I am and who He’s called me to be.

It’s a good thing I didn’t “put on a show” and act differently because if I had I wouldn’t have been able to absorb at maximum capacity what He had poured on me. Because I was just being me I was able to absorb as much as possible naturally. Through His out pouring I gained an increased loyalty, determination, and more fuel for His fire within me.

You are free to be you! God made you this way for a reason. Putting on a show or being someone you are not will only hinder your growth and block your ability to receive all God has for you. I encourage you to give yourself permission to be your authentic self and stop condemning yourself for being something your not.

I want to support you in your journey to authenticity, to you walking in your God given purpose. If you need help in this area please consider talking to me by clicking here.

Be Blessed, Be Encouraged
